Battle of the Books

CWM 2016-2017 BOB Team

Battle of the Books participants read 12 books and then compete against the other Elementary Schools in Asheboro City Schools.  We practice weekly, and spend a lot of time reading on our own.  Battle of the Books is very challenging and takes a lot of hard work, but is fun too!  At practices we discussed the different books and did mock competitions.  The 2016-2017 season ended with our competition on March 30 at Guy B. Teachey Elementary School.  Here is what some members of the 2016-2017 Battle of the Books team for Charles W. McCrary Elementary School have to say about the club:

Battle of the Books encourages kids to read!  It is a great outlet to plug your mind into! – Jacque

Battle of the Books was an awesome experience! – Joshua

Battle of the Books was fun and challenging for me! - Lily

We welcome next year’s fourth and fifth graders to talk to Ms. Lassiter about joining Battle of the Books next year!  If you love to read, this is a good club for you!
